Are you struggling to decide what resume format would be best for you between the Chronological and Functional formats?

Well, the answer could be to combine the two formats. We’ll discuss more here in this post as we go over what a Combination Resume format is.

Let’s dive right in and discuss a Combination Resume!

Want to gain tips and techniques in resume building? Then the upcoming Virtual Resume Development Coach Workshop is for you!

What Does A Combination Resume Do?

A Combination Resume is what the name entails, it’s a combination of the main attributes of a Functional Resume and a Chronological Resume. It has the skills you have obtained with the work experience all on one resume.

Who Should Use A Combination Resume?

People who have skills for the industry they are applying in with at least some work experience in that industry can use this format. An example would be a graduate from a college/university with some industry work experience. A person who shouldn’t use this resume would be someone who is a recent graduate but doesn’t have work experience or a person with a lack of skills or work experience in the industry they are applying to.

What Sections Make Up A Combination Resume?

This resume format commonly uses six sections: Contact information, summary, relevant skills, work experience, education, and other related details. The skills and work experience can be in any order as both are used to highlight what you bring to the job you are applying for.
