3 Interview Secrets You Can Unlock

March 9, 2022

Do you want some interview secrets that could help you in the job interview? Interviews are tough. They can make or break your chances of getting that new job you’ve applied for. That is why you will want to prepare the very best you can to make sure you nail it and get that new job.

Luckily we here at Winnipeg Transition Centre want to help you and today will share with you three interview secrets you can use to make sure you ace that next interview.

Want to upgrade your interview skills? Then the upcoming Virtual Interview Skills Coach Workshop is for you!

Bring Your References

Make sure you bring a copy of your references to give the interviewer at the end of the interview. If they are interested in hiring you for their position, they’ll most likely contact the individuals you have on your list of references to see what type of person you are and how you are on the job.

Research The Company

The interviewer might ask questions to see if you know anything about the business you are applying to. This is where researching the company will benefit you and could even put you at the top of their shortlist of candidates. Researching the history and values of the company can show that you have some knowledge of who they are and what they do. This will help show the interviewer that you care about the job that you’re applying for.

Highlight Your Skills

Point out what values or skills you bring to the position that would be beneficial to the company. Do you have experience in Microsoft Office, social media management, or speaking in front of crowds? Highlighting what you can bring to the table is another way to distance yourself from the other potential candidates interviewing for that position. A company is more likely to hire the person with the most skills that would apply for the position in question, so why not highlight those skills that you could have?

These suggestions really are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to mastering job interviews. If you want to learn more we recommend contacting us to set up an interview preparation session with one of our Career Coaches. This includes a Free 30 minute consultation where we can discuss what your specific needs are. During the session, you’ll learn how to gain confidence and overcome nervousness, get suggestions for answering ‘tough” interview questions, learn to find your own unique answers to questions, and more!
